Thank goodness for the rain this morning that I got to sleep a considerably comfortable zzz. I went home at 12 yesterday and woke up like 6. Then I got up and eat an apple, and lying on my bed thinking what I was going to do today, until I fell asleep again until 10. After going to breakfast at the market with my family, there I am blogging about the big adventure yesterday.

Wednesday, 19/12

I slept at about 3 something watching Rozen Maiden (nicely drawn anime with lame but okay plot) . Then I woke up at 8.10 when I was supposed to reach school at 9. Threw on some clothes and rushed to school, surprisingly early at 8.45. Then mucked about in the newly-painted old band room and bossed people around to paint the banners. Tee Zhuo kept bleeding so I asked Aik Hwee to tag along and check if he's okay because I can't stand blood. When the banner was done and all we had to wait was it to dry, I rushed out of school at about 12.

Then I went home and waited for my mum's beehoon while I played a little piano. I was too lazy to change out of my paint-stained shirt so I looked horrible, I guess. I was late so Rebecca and Weiien were waiting and waiting and finally at about 2 I reached. Then we went shopping at Bishan Fairprice and stuff with me crapping a lot and she trying to keep me from buying Ferrero Rocher.

We bus-ed to her house and oooh. Rebecca has a nice house. Her piano sounds different from mine, though. And her room is like, wow! Big windows. Must be pretty with all the stars at night.

Anyway, some pesky kids arrived. Then we went down, they started playing basketball, Nicholas came, we couldn't find a lighter, got Nick to buy, Rebecca and Weiien disappeared, I stared at the BBQ pit and didn't know what to do. In the end Nicholas came to our rescue while we got Weiien to buy more firestarters because we didn't have enough.

After that a few people came and that was about it.

The whole BBQ was pretty retarded now that I think of it because I was the one who organized it and I didn't know how to set up one. Oh, so I'm the retarded one. So while all the boys started cooking and stuff and Amelia started playing with them (she's very entertaining to have around.) and doing random things like shouting to passers-by. And Amelia has found her new talent for fighting fires (much to the BBQ's dismay, however.) So she pouted and sulked and went and peel prawns to feed people.

In the end it's still me and qiqi and amelia plus rebecca and her church friends and her brother who did everything and stayed back. But as pathetic the attendance was, I think the gathering was a success. I felt happy. And I guess it's all that matters.

There's one thing I realized about Rebecca is how well she's doing nowadays. Her brother's infinitely better than what I thought from the Maple days when they were still fighting over the computer and she has plenty of support from her friends. She could just call and people will stream in and help her. Maybe she doesn't know it, but that's rare to come by. I can't find a contact in my handphone who would rush down to my rescue at beck and call without question (even when Amelia told me to call qifann he told me he was busy with his cousins from M'sia.)

She has people around her who genuinely cares about her a lot. There's one lucky girl. At first I was still worried and guilty about it all but after seeing how she sent for help I wasn't that worried. Guilty, yes. I hope the accounts ain't too atrocious so I can contribute in that direction. And in others Rebecca can do well. And she would. I really don't have to worry too much about her.

That said, what a way to end a chapter. I'll never plan a BBQ gathering again! Because I got scammed by the teachers again and I felt totally useless with the big strong guys doing all the work and me just crapping and passing random comments like "Amelia you're too near the fire!" so yep. I'll stay far far away from the charcoal and firestarters.

My schedule for the rest of the week:

Today: Piano at 2
Friday: Finish banner with varnish, get key from Lai
Saturday: Band Prac, must be there before 8
Sunday: Outing with Chen (provided it's not her family day)

Meanwhile I have to find time to read the EMB (finally) and collect my books and call Chen to confirm. Then it's the last week before school starts. Wow.

P.S. I'm sacrificing piano practising time to blog! You people better be grateful.
